Gadget Craze (U) Ltd respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through https://www.gadgetcraze.ug, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to meet our obligations under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, Cap. 97.

1. Who We Are

Gadget Craze (U) Ltd, Mabirizi Complex, 3rd floor, L3 03, Kampala, Uganda. We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and order details when you place an order, create an account, contact support or subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Payment information: the payment method used and the reference for your transaction. We do not store full card numbers or mobile money PINs.
  • Information collected automatically: your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, products viewed, and how you move through the site.
  • Messages: the content of conversations you have with us through WhatsApp, live chat, email or our support desk.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To process, deliver and invoice your orders.
  • To provide customer support, warranty handling, returns and refunds.
  • To improve the website, our product range and how we present it.
  • To show you relevant advertising, where you have consented to this.
  • To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations in Uganda.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We group ours as follows:

  • Strictly necessary: required for the site to work at all, such as keeping your shopping cart and remembering your language and time zone. These are always active and cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which tell us how visitors use the site. Microsoft Clarity also records how you move, click and scroll through pages so we can identify where the site is confusing or broken.
  • Advertising: Google Ads and the Meta Pixel, which measure the performance of our adverts and allow us to show products to people who have visited our site.

Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you accept them. You can change your decision at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

5. Who We Share Information With

  • Delivery partners, who receive the name, address and phone number needed to deliver your order.
  • Payment and banking providers, to confirm and reconcile payments.
  • Technology providers who run parts of our service, including the platform that hosts our website and order system, and Google, Meta and Microsoft for analytics and advertising.
  • Authorities, where we are required to disclose information by Ugandan law.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Transfers Outside Uganda

Some of the providers above store and process data on servers outside Uganda. Where this happens, we rely on the contractual protections those providers offer and take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be protected to the standard required by Ugandan law.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We keep order, invoice and accounting records for as long as Ugandan tax and company law requires. Marketing and analytics data is kept for no longer than needed for the purpose it was collected. Support conversations are kept while they remain useful for servicing your purchase.

8. Your Rights

Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Have inaccurate information corrected.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
  • Withdraw your consent to analytics and advertising cookies at any time.
  • Object to your information being used for direct marketing.
  • Complain to the Personal Data Protection Office if you believe we have handled your information unlawfully.

9. Keeping Information Secure

Our site is served over an encrypted connection, access to our order system is restricted to authorised staff, and payments are handled through verified company accounts. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

10. Children

Our website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised date at the top.
