Privacy & Cookie Policy
This page explains what we collect when you shop with us, why we collect it, who else sees it and what you can switch off. We have written it in plain language, because a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody. It meets our obligations under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, Cap. 97.

The short version
- We collect what we need to sell to you, deliver to you and support you afterwards. Nothing else.
- We never store full card numbers or Mobile Money PINs.
- We do not sell your personal information. Not to anyone, at any price.
- In Uganda and most countries, analytics and advertising cookies are on by default and you can switch them off at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and these cookies only load if they accept.

1. Who we are
Gadget Craze (U) Ltd, incorporated in Uganda under registration number 80020001926696, of Mabirizi Complex, 3rd floor, L3 03, Kampala Road, Kampala, Uganda.
We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide what is collected and why, and we are accountable for it.
2. What we collect
- What you give us: your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and order details when you place an order, create an account, contact support or subscribe to our newsletter.
- Payment information: the method you used and the reference for your transaction. We do not store full card numbers or Mobile Money PINs.
- Collected automatically: your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, products viewed and how you move through the site.
- Messages: the content of conversations you have with us on WhatsApp, live chat, email or our support desk.
3. What we use it for
- Processing, delivering and invoicing your orders.
- Customer support, warranty handling, returns and refunds.
- Improving the website, our product range and how we present it.
- Showing you relevant advertising, unless you have switched advertising cookies off (or, for visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, only where you have accepted them).
- Meeting our legal, accounting and tax obligations in Uganda.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Ours fall into three groups.

How your choice works depends on where you are visiting from.
- Uganda and most other countries: analytics and advertising cookies are on when you arrive, and a notice at the bottom of the page tells you so. Choose Cookie settings in that notice, or the Cookie settings link in the footer, and select Only essential to switch them off. They stay off on this device until you change your mind.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: analytics and advertising cookies do not load at all until you choose Accept all. If you choose Only essential, they stay off.
To decide which of these applies, we use the country your connection comes from, as reported by the security and content delivery service that sits in front of our website. We use it only for this purpose and do not store it with your cookie choice. You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
5. Who else sees it
- Delivery partners, who receive the name, address and phone number needed to get your order to you. Nothing more.
- Payment and banking providers, to confirm and reconcile payments.
- Technology providers who run parts of our service, including the platform that hosts our website and order system, plus Google, Meta and Microsoft for analytics and advertising.
- Authorities, where Ugandan law requires us to disclose information.
We do not sell your personal information. There is no arrangement under which anyone pays us for access to our customer list, and there will not be one.
6. Information that leaves Uganda
Some of the providers above store and process data on servers outside Uganda. Where that happens we rely on the contractual protections those providers offer and take reasonable steps to keep your information protected to the standard Ugandan law requires.
7. How long we keep it
- Order, invoice and accounting records: for as long as Ugandan tax and company law requires.
- Marketing and analytics data: no longer than needed for the purpose it was collected for.
- Support conversations: while they remain useful for servicing your purchase.
8. Your rights
Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
- Have inaccurate information corrected.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
- Switch off analytics and advertising cookies, or withdraw your consent to them, at any time.
- Object to your information being used for direct marketing.
- Complain to the Personal Data Protection Office if you believe we have handled your information unlawfully.
To use any of these rights, contact us with the details in section 12. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can, and we will not make it difficult.
9. Marketing messages
We always send you messages about an order you have placed, including confirmations, payment and delivery updates. Those are part of the service rather than marketing.
Marketing messages, including on WhatsApp, only go to people who asked for them, for example by joining a product waitlist or subscribing to our newsletter. Every one tells you how to stop, and stopping is immediate and free. Opting out never affects an order or your rights.
10. Keeping information secure
Our site is served over an encrypted connection, access to our order system is restricted to authorised staff and payments are handled through verified company accounts in the company name.
No system is completely secure, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that we take reasonable measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and that we monitor for attempts to interfere with the site.
11. Children
Our website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
