They make noisy places quiet
Active noise cancelling listens to the sound around you and cancels it out. Apple says the Pro 3 removes up to twice as much noise as the previous AirPods Pro. On a taxi, a boda or a long flight, that means you can listen at a lower volume and arrive less tired. Press and hold the stem to switch to Transparency mode when you need to hear people around you.
They double as a fitness tracker
A sensor in each earbud reads your heart rate, so you can track a workout in the Fitness app without wearing a watch. They are IP57 rated, so sweat and rain are not a problem.
They can translate a conversation
With Live Translation, someone speaking another language is translated into your ear, and your replies appear translated on your iPhone. At launch it supported English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.
They help you look after your hearing
You can take a hearing test from your iPhone, and Hearing Protection lowers loud sounds around you, useful at concerts or near loud machinery.

The simple rule: AirPods 4 and AirPods 5 have an open fit that rests in your ear. AirPods Pro 3 have soft tips that seal your ear, which is why they block more noise. If silicone tips feel uncomfortable to you, choose AirPods 5; if you want the quietest ride, choose Pro 3.
What happened to AirPods 3?
Apple discontinued the third-generation AirPods in September 2024, when AirPods 4 launched. If you see "brand-new AirPods 3" for sale today, be careful: it is old stock at best. The closest modern replacement is AirPods 4 at UGX 550,000, or AirPods 5 if you want noise cancelling.
Using an Android phone?

- Pair them with your iPhone: genuine AirPods Pro 3 show the correct name and battery levels, and appear in Settings with their own menu.
- Enter the serial number on Apple's coverage site, checkcoverage.apple.com, to confirm the model and warranty.
- Be wary of prices far below UGX 900,000. Copies are common.
